•IP VOLUME 88 ***___-__-S_____S!-t_i!e Hf'AK Vfil'S UKWil) TO FILE^CLAIS Many Eligible Have Not Applied'For Any Relief. APRIL 6th IS LIMIT ' ■ i. u American Legion Stands Ready To Assist AH Service Men Of The County -VXtNV VETERANS ARE LISTED According to the record; of the Adjutant Oeneral* office In Washngton D. C spproxtmotely JO veterans !n Pike ♦county suffered disabilities while serving ln the World War. many of whom failed to file claims for Government Relief. These men. if still disabled and can furnish evidence to substantiate their claims, are entitled to financial and medical relief from the United States Veteran Bureau. However all claims and necessary evidence must be filed before April 8, 1930. according to recent legislation passed by Congresa lh order that no disabled veteran whose disabilities are the direct result of his military service shall be deprived of the benefits to which he Is Justly entitled from this government, the Amer- lean Legion of Ohio through Its post* is prepared and ready to assist him ln preparation and prosecution of his -claim. In Its efforts to serve the disabled veterans thc American Legion Is cooperating with the United States "Veteran Burenu which Is unable to make direct contact srtth these men. For Information call on the nearest American Leg-on Poet While the American Legion Is ready and wlllfng to aid the disabled veteran* tt at no time guarantees to these veterans government benefits. If all requirements are complied with and the necessary evidence furnished ln aeoredance with the United States Veteran Barest! laws aad regulations there ls^no doubt but that such claims will be satisfactorily^adjusted. Due to the tnatcuracy of the address. es the American Legion as wj.ll as the United States Veteran Bureau must rely an the cooperation of other agencies tn contacting these men and asks the local newspaper* to assist ln this work publishing the names of the disabled veterans so that they may see this article and take advantage of the opportunity to file before It ts too late. The records st Washington al**o show approximately 38 veterans tn Pike county who were killed or died In the service. It Is possible that the dependents of these men have failed to file claims for dependent compensation, this time limit Is also April <*. 1930.
