Franklinton, October 28th 1812 Dear Sir: On my return from an expedition with General Harrison against the ??? Indians as far as Defiance, I found your letter under date August 25th in post office enclosing ten dollars for the purpose of paying your taxes on the lands I located for you, and to which I shall particularly attend. The amount of the taxes will be two dollars yearly as fixed now by law, and probable that they will not be lessened until the expenses of war is done away. General Harrison is here and expects to move on to Detroit with an amry of 9,000 men in a few days, also some heavy cannon. I am respectfully your, Joseph Vance
