About this collection

The mission of the Columbus Historical Society is to preserve, present, and promote the history of Columbus, Ohio.  Photographs, historic postcards and other digital images represented in this collection are one way to accomplish the society’s goals. The collection contains two significant photograph collections.  The Thomas Root Aerial Collection consisting of areal images of  Franklin county between 1970 and 1980, and the Ameriflora’92 collection from the international floral exhibit held at Franklin Park Conservatory in 1992.
